GARRETT and HOPE - live band sets

Hey you guys ! So because I’ve got some edits to a few tunes below, I can’t put them into an Apply / Spotify playlist. The list I have here won’t play straight through, but here is a Spotify list for that effect https://open.spotify.com/playlist/68G0ozbP4QY956RazsWhu6?si=4656f1a3ae344456

And an Apple list (coming - I’ll update)

The set represents plenty of good rocking guitar songs that I learn Mr (and I’m sure Mrs too!) Chilton are big fans of. They can ALL be danced to / strutted to. It’s a show band, kind of set, with different moods.

Pre Stage - Marching style band JOINS IN SUDDENLY with the music playing through the PA - Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You (yes?) - the band leads guests into the Chapel Of Love, creating a big “pre show jam, building, as musicians ascend the stage.

First - a nice run of great dancing numbers, with that Rolling Stones vibe well represented.

The Breakdown Moment - we surprise everyone with a live version of Bohemian Rhapsody, which is just bound to get a certain number of people being unable to help joining in gustily. We get to the guitar section, then segue into the Beatles - I Got A Feeling, which is such a “sunrise” , bonding, and grooving tune. It’ll put a sentimental smile on everyone’s face :)

Then- a big guitar solo-kind of tune (Pinball Wizard) to finish the full rock out section. The big guitar solo! (there’s my casual demo of it below)

Then (the big open up) - we deliver tune after tune of solid grooving, soulful Aretha / James Brown kinda territory, with wildcards such as a ska tune, a full on Sinatra swing tune with brass, Hootie and the Blowfish - Only Wanna Be With You (also in Maureen’s playlist). There are just examples below - we can add any favourites etc here.

For Tommy Hare’s Magic Cowboy Band for the Saturday 4th July Brunch, we have a set with much material drawn from Mrs Chilton’s playlist. - the American, Eagles, more Rolling Stones kinda material - all to follow (or find the Spotify list here for starters. A more casual band approach than the show band from the night before, as befits the relaxed afternoon vibe.

First full ONSTAGE band song

rock rock, but full of strutty dancing

Garrett, you wanted? - a great fun party bopper

Fun , rocky , headbangy ! full of Love - all the slow boring parts have been taken out !

Punky, rocky , British Love !

Time to bring the HEART and warmth and swing with soul , different dancers will like

Just plain funky. Get down!

This is a maybe, but a great ritual blow out !!

Designed to be influenced by alcohol! If we drop this in here, after a bunch of good dancing, we change the vibe, become theatrical, and people will inevitably join in / jump on stage , everyone focuses —- segues into I’ve Got A Feeling by the Beatles. Big coming together , and soulful celebration

A proper rock out with blistering guitar soloing. Rocking out with a band beloved by Mr (and Mrs?) Chilton! Simplified as a DEMO here - with me playing a demo keyboard guitar solo !

No explanation needed here! Continuing with Mr and Mrs Chilton’s rocky music loves

Where we up with the FUNK, and the guaranteed high energy dancefloor generators

All kinds can happen after this point - we can go nice and funky - Word Up by Cameo , a bit of Motown like below. We can also change the scene to a BIG BAND Sinatra sound - Fly Me To The Moon (?) for a big swish vibe change, some ska… LOADS of things we can get into here — not listed

Referenced in Mrs Chilton’s playlist. We can cover it. It’s a great dancey slammer

Different vibe — a nice shakin’ bit of ska

A scene-changing SWINGER !
